Who am I?

Who am I?

Wienvenue sur mon espace professionnel ! Je m’appelle Clément Hochedez, mais la plupart de mes amis m’appellent Otché. Le nom est resté 😉

This modest platform is the result of a long personal journey through the mysteries of the Web with which I grew up. I built this site myself with great care and put in it what I like: sobriety, minimalism and a light touch of pink, to evoke the sunsets that can be seen in Montreal and on the Bassin d'Arcachon, in France, where I come from.

As a teenager belonging rather to the geek category, I was mentored (and still am!) by an older brother who left his career to devote himself to his websites. He is the one who allowed me to take my first professional steps on the Internet as a web copywriter. I developed a strong taste for writing and a strong interest in the discipline of SEO.

CCurious by nature and jack of all trades, I passed my airplane pilot's license (not the big ones) at 18 years old. This made me dream of the great outdoors and therefore naturally put Quebec on my path a few years later. But let's go back to my first digital steps!

I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in web marketing from theEuropean School of Internet Professions (EEMI), founded by well known actors of the French Web. At the end of my studies, I worked 6 months in the startup Livementor in Paris as a traffic manager. I then went back to my origins in the south west of France as a freelancer for a year, while training students, companies and entrepreneurs in website creation and SEO.

In 2016, I left France for Canada, more specifically Montreal, Quebec, where I now reside. I joined Adviso as an SEO analyst and came out as an SEO strategist three years later, having led the SEO strategy for two years for the National Bank of Canada, one of the largest banks in Quebec.

My main achievement: +193% traffic in one year on the bank's blog, which has been in existence since 2011. Adviso has been for me a second family when I arrived and a revelation on how a company can positively impact its community and its employees, thanks to a strong corporate culture and talented individuals.

In 2019, I felt like I'd done a tour of what I could bring and what the agency world could bring me. With a strong content expertise, I wanted to hone my more technical skills, opening up a little more to the different data sources that an SEO can use in their work.

So I joined one of my favorite SEO tools, OnCrawl, a Customer Success Manager in North America and I worked there with various large American companies, including some of the Fortune 500.

The current global situation and my little inner voice then made an impact. With a strong appetite for challenge, creativity, experimentation and independence, I decided to put my expertise to good use by editing my own websites, while offering training and SEO consulting mandates. This also allows me to give my personal time to causes that are dear to me and to contribute to making tomorrow's world a more conscious and tolerant one.
